Drew McIntyre is Shane McMahon’s new enforcer and it appears that the program between the two of them will continue with Roman Reigns through the summer. This means that McIntyre will be needed on many more SmackDown events.

WWE is now advertising Drew McMahon for SmackDown house shows. It is interesting because despite the Wild Card Rule, WWE Superstars have been working their own brand’s house shows.

Now it looks like McIntyre will be working the road with SmackDown live in June. One of those scheduled live events is even taking place on a Monday opposite a live broadcast of RAW. Of course, WWE is very likely to cancel that June 3rd show as they have done in the past with other Monday blue brand events.

Saturday 6/1 in Waco, Texas

Sunday 6/2 in College Station, Texas

Monday 6/3 in Corpus Christie, Texas (opposite that night’s live Raw broadcast)

Sunday 6/9 in Stockton, CA

Monday 6/10 in Reno, Nevada (opposite that night’s live Raw broadcast)

We will have to wait and see what happens next. This could just be a sign that they need a top heel on SmackDown to work the road with the company. However, it could point to a more permanent change.

McIntyre is a valuable resource for WWE if they figure out how to use him. Therefore, he could be doing Shane McMahon’s bidding for now, but don’t expect him to stand behind another Superstar for long.
