WWE only has two hours of time on television for SmackDown Live so the crowd in Providence got a very special treat after 205 Live was over.

Billie Kay and Peyton Royce haven’t defended their WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles in a while, but they did last night before the lights went out after SmackDown Live. They defended their titles in a dark match against the Kabuki Warriors and the crowd was very happy that they stuck around.

The IIconics ended up keeping their titles via a DQ finish. This might be the only way they will be defending their titles unless WWE can write something for them to do on television. Because women still aren’t allowed to perform in Saudi Arabia so the Super ShowDown on June 7th is not happening.

WWE almost booked The IIconics vs Asuka and Kairi Sane for Money In The Bank, but they changed their minds about that match.

Perhaps the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles will be defended at Stomping Grounds on June 23rd, but they will have to book that match first.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
