Kurt Angle will be facing Baron Corbin at WrestleMania and WWE doesn’t seem to be changing that match. The company is letting Angle take part in a bunch of much more appropriate matches during the build up to Mania.

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE picked Kurt Angle’s actual WrestleMania opponent. However, they are letting him decide who he faces in the weeks leading to his final contest.

“The deal is that Kurt actually is legitimately able to ask for his final opponents, but even though the gimmick was that he asked for his final opponent, that was the one that he couldn’t ask for and that’s what he got.”

“The rest of these are actually matches that he’s asking for so they gave him that on the way out so that’s why we have Samoa Joe on RAW and why we have Rey Mysterio on RAW next week.”

Angle deserves to be able to pick his final opponents. He loves working with certain people and WWE is affording him the opportunity to do so. They didn’t let him pick his WrestleMania opponent though which is why we’re getting Baron Corbin.

Let’s just enjoy Angle’s farewell run in the meantime because those are the matches he actually wanted to do.
