WWE superstar Finn Balor has caused quite the stir on social media, by insinuating that Conor McGregor will be appearing at WrestleMania 35 next Sunday.

McGregor, who has teased a move into professional wrestling in the past, decided to announce his retirement from mixed martial arts last night on social media – which is what Finn was replying to. Conor’s last fight came at UFC 229 against rival Khabib Nurmagomedov, where he lost via submission.

We all know that Balor is probably just joking around about the possibility of The Notorious One making the trip to MetLife Stadium, but stranger things have happened over the years in WWE.

The general expectation if Conor came over would be for him to work some kind of angle with Becky Lynch, perhaps in a mixed tag kind of environment. If that were to be the case, Ronda Rousey and a male partner of her choosing could make for a fun bout.

Many MMA fans aren’t taking Conor’s retirement that seriously, especially when you consider the fact that he also retired back in 2016 before going back on his word just days later. This could be nothing more than a negotiation tactic, but if it’s even remotely realistic that he could leave the UFC for WWE, you just know Vince McMahon will be making that call.

Balor is set to challenge Bobby Lashley for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania, so in a fantasy booking world, maybe Conor could intervene in that. Just think of the possible interactions between him and Lio Rush.
