WWE’s Decision About WrestleMania Main Event Almost Went The Other Way

WWE’s WrestleMania 35 event will be unlike any the company has held before. Because the women will be closing out the show. However, this was not always the case. In fact, some in the company were apparently pulling for Brock Lesnar vs Seth Rollins to get the rub instead.

PW Insider reports that WWE is viewing this Mania main event choice as a big victory backstage. However, it apparently wasn’t that easy of a decision to make.

The decision to go with the Raw Women’s Championship main event is being seen internally as a major victory for the women’s division and for everyone involved in that storyline. We are told it was down to the wire between that match and Brock Lesnar vs. Seth Rollins closing the show.

It is not too late for WWE to change things around. After all, they have pulled matches and switched things on the day of the show before. Making this announcement with two weeks to go until the show of shows is certain to drum up excitement and get some good press in the meantime, however, Brock vs Seth could still squeak this one out if Vince McMahon gets cold enough feet.
