All Elite Wrestling is building a roster and has several more exciting announcements to come. This includes a television deal, but as huge streaming services from Apple and Disney are in the pipeline we can’t help but wonder why a deal hasn’t been announced yet.

Dave Meltzer discussed the current landscape of the entertainment business during Wrestling Observer Radio. He mentioned that the reason why so many streaming services are attracted to professional wrestling is because of the fact that their audiences might be more keen to accept the idea. This could apparently include AEW.

“AEW will be on television, but the reason they’re so in demand is because everyone is looking for streaming content and they’re gonna want whether it’s the Being The Elite or shoulder programming or something. Everyone — they believe that wrestling fans will watch a streaming service which they will. Wrestling fans are probably more adapt to go into streaming than other sports fans because of the nature of WWE Network and I was going to say younger skewing, but UFC sort of skews younger than WWE right now.”

You never know where All Elite Wrestling will end up, but from the sound of it, they will be on television, but fans might have to subscribe to another streaming service in order to watch.

It was said that AEW will have the biggest non-WWE television contract for any wrestling company since WCW. Only time will tell if that means they will have a regular night on cable or if a streaming service will pick them up.
