During a commercial break during last night’s edition of Monday Night RAW, WWE confirmed that NXT will indeed be bringing back the WarGames moniker once again during Survivor Series weekend.

WarGames is considered to be one of the most intriguing match concepts that there’s ever been in both WWE and WCW, with it originating in the latter. Over the course of the last few years we’ve seen two incarnations of the match down in NXT, with both being praised for different reasons.

Now, as confirmed by those in attendance at the show last night, we’ll get to see the structure make yet another comeback.

With the highlights of last year’s match having over 1 million views on YouTube and 2017’s effort having more than 2 million, it’s clear to see that there is a demand for WarGames. Sure, it may not be the most practical of matches, but it always leads to something spectacular.

The talent down in NXT speaks for itself, and as we continue to go from Takeover to Takeover, there seems to be no limit to what these guys and girls are capable of.

Speaking of, it’d be interesting to see whether or not NXT considers inserting women into the match this year – or perhaps give them a match of their own.

That may sound like an odd idea but when you consider the fact they’ve already had a Hell in a Cell match as well as a few appearances inside the Elimination Chamber, you’d think this would be the next logical step.
