Becky Lynch was pulled from her WWE WrestleMania RAW Women’s Title Match this week. Then Charlotte Flair was chosen as her replacement by Vince McMahon. A lot of people expected triple threat match at the show of shows, but few wanted Lynch to lose her match in the process.

Dave Meltzer explained on Wrestling Observer Radio that this was just the way to get to where WWE is going. It had nothing to do with how the Internet Wrestling Community reacted at the thought of inserting Charlotte Flair into the WrestleMania main event.

“The interesting thing here is that a lot of people think that Vince is doing this because he is playing off the internet feeling that Charlotte is you know like the company person and all that to get heat with people in that way.

“That is not the case, it was just the way the story was written before any of that stuff happened. So it wasn’t even that they were expecting it — it just worked out in their favor. The thing — this has been basically laid out from a long time back.”

Becky Lynch will likely find her way back in the WrestleMania match eventually. WWE is just playing the story this way just as they did with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin so many years ago.
