Ronda Rousey vs Becky Lynch was the plan for WWE Survivor Series last year. However, Nia Jax’s facebreaker fist had other plans. This caused Lynch a broken face and Charlotte Flair got to wrestle Rousey instead.

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that even though WWE had to change up the participants in the match, the end result was still the same.

“By the way, that finish at Survivor Series the Ronda Rousey/ Charlotte Flair finish where Charlotte whacked her with a cane and all that. That was the Becky Lynch finish.”

“Ronda Rousey was not going to submit Becky Lynch in that match. Becky Lynch was gonna beat the hell out of her with a kendo stick and get DQ’ed. So that’s where that came from.”

Fans got pretty much what they were going to see any way at Survivor Series. We just had a different person playing the part of the attacker at the end of the match.

Becky Lynch wasn’t going to submit to Rousey which is great to know, but it still took away a great opportunity. Things are likely going to be okay for The Man because she is currently pointing at a WrestleMania 35 sign.
