New Japan Pro Wrestling is going through yet another huge transition as a company. They are losing a few stars, and now two more are out the door.

Barreta and Chuckie T are leaving NJPW. Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio that Baretta was offered a contract and he was set for a push. He verbally agreed to the deal, but he backed off from the deal.

“I don’t know he’s going to AEW, obviously that is the first thing you would speculate. That is certainly what I’m led to believe. I have heard nothing from AEW though.”

While Meltzer was still recording WOR, later on, he received a message that pretty much confirmed that both Chuckie T and Baretta are on their way to AEW.

It is said that this didn’t go over well in Japan because Baretta gave his word. Gedo books very far in advance, like two years, so he wrote things for Baretta. Now both he and Chuckie T are finishing up with NJPW this week.
