The All Elite Wrestling rally included a number of big announcements including Chris Jericho and Pac’s involvement which set up rather impressive roster.

During Brandi Rhodes’ announcement, she assured us that their women’s division will be different. Not only are they casting a wide net for international talent, but the females will be paid equally to the males. This echoed a statement Cody previously made about “changing the pro wrestling economy.”

Dave Meltzer discussed this bold promise on Wrestling Observer Radio where he explained what they likely meant by that statement.

“I mean I think that they will be paid equally for their spots. I don’t think what the Young Bucks, Cody, and Jericho are making, I don’t think the women are going to be making that.”

“I mean I think that in fairness, I think that if women get over to the point then they will be paid equally because I think that’s a pretty strong thing they believe in. I don’t expect for women to be paid what the top guys are because they don’t have women at that level.”

He said that paying males and females equally is probably the long-term goal of the company, but it’s not going to happen right from the start. Then again, AEW has lot of goals at this point in the game and with so many things to make certain, we will have to wait and see.
