WWE’s Women’s Revolution is still going strong and they’re making big marks in history all the time. It seems like they achieved another pretty impressive accomplishment on Wednesday night without really trying.
Ronda Rousey faced Nia Jax in the main event at Madison Square Garden. This was a RAW Women’s Title match and followed John Cena’s return with the help of Vince McMahon.
The SmackDown house show in Chicago saw Asuka vs Becky Lynch vs Charlotte as the main event of the evening. This match followed The New Daniel Bryan defeating Mustafa Ali and The Miz in a steel cage match. This was a big deal for Ali because Chicago is his home market.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that this is a big deal as it is the first time in the company’s 30-year modern era that WWE ran two house shows that were main evented by women’s matches.
Unfortunately, it was also reported that many fans in Chicago left after the cage match and some in MSG were leaving during the Rouse vs Jax main event as well.
