WWE taped the December 25th episode of SmackDown Live tonight in Fresno, CA. Below are the spoiler results.
The stage was dressed up for Christmas in a big way for the Christmas Day show.
First match: SAnitY & The Bar vs Usos & Gallows and Anderson with The New Day on commentary.
Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows hit the Magic Killer on Cesaro for the win
R-Truth and Carmella came out to the ring dressed as Santa & Mrs. Claus then they did a break dance while R-Truth got the names of Santa’s reindeer wrong. Daniel Bryan came out to yell at them for being a part of the culture that’s ruining the planet. He said Santa isn’t real and then Daniel called R-Truth fickle for believing in Santa Claus too. They go into a dance break and then Daniel Bryan drops R-Truth.
Second Match: Mustafa Ali vs Andrade Cien Almas is next on the show. Ali won with the 054. It was said to be a great match by reports given to us.
The ring gets done-up in a red carpet for the Miz TV segment complete with the Best In The World Trophy. Then Miz comes out to have his segment with Shane McMahon. The BITW trophy had a Santa hat on it too so that was a nice touch. Shane and Miz were both wearing red as well so they looked quite festive… but none more than the trophy with its Santa hat on.
The Miz still wanted to be Shane McMahon’s tag team partner and he left it up to the WWE Universe who gave him an overwhelmingly positive response. Shane took a second and said, “You better not screw me or there will be major consequences… okay, let’s try this.” Then they hugged and The Miz was so happy. The place popped big for this moment and everyone did Yes Fingers. Looks like Daniel Bryan killed the Yes Movement, but The Miz is going to keep it going to a certain extent.
Third Match: Samoa Joe vs Jeff Hardy was next. Jeff Hardy ended winning via count out and those are never fun. Then after the match, Samoa Joe choked Jeff out at ringside with the Coquina Clutch. That is even less fun.
Fourth Match: Shinsuke Nakamura vs Rusev for the US Title is next. After a pretty good match that got the Fresno crowd very hot, Rusev was able to pull off a Machka Kick and score the pinfall to win the WWE United States Title.
