Velveteen Dream shocked us all once again at NXT TakeOver: WarGames with his inventive TakeOver ring attire. He has donned the colors of Hulk Hogan before but it was in his match against Ricochet where he was also taking a dig at The One And Only’s former Prince Puma character from Lucha Underground. But after he showed up at the last TakeOver with “Call Me Vince” written on the back of his tights, Triple H later said that someone was going to make sure they took a look at what Dream was going to wear from then on.
So insert Dream walking to the ring in LA looking like Hollywood Hogan. This obviously needed some approval, especially since it was such a blatant nod to The Hulkster.
“Yeah, I mean I don’t think there was any problem with it,” Brad Shepard said on the Oh, You Didn’t Know podcast while they discussed Dream’s attire. Therefore, it met the approval process and Velveteen Dream made his way to the ring looking like the leader of the nWo.
So Dream’s ring attire will keep being as outlandish as he wants and WWE approves and apparently, making obvious references to Hollywood Hogan is just fine. If I were a betting man Dream has a notebook full of ring attire ideas that I can’t wait to see as his career continues.
