Beth Phoenix is becoming a regular voice on commentary during WWE events and you never know how she might be incorporated in WWE Evolution, but the Mae Young Classic commentator wasn’t at SmackDown 1000 in spite of the fact that her husband Edge made the trip to Washington DC.
Phoenix did take time to send out a brief video message congratulating SmackDown Live on their 1000th episode but she said, “I have like 2 seconds because I’m in the middle of the bedtime routine with the kids.”
She said she wished she could be there at SmackDown 1000 and remembers wrestling her best friend Natalya in Buffalo during a past SmackDown episode not too long ago in all reality. But Phoenix is a mom of 2 and her husband was there cutting great promo with Becky Lynch, so she decided to stay at home.
It’s great that Edge and Beth have been able to work out this parenting thing even if it means they seldom get to attend big events together. After all, who wants to call a sitter when you don’t have to?

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
