Mike Hogewood, a well known sports announcer who called Ring Of Honor’s first two years of matches on AXS TV passed away yesterday according to WGHP FOX in North Carolina. He was 63. Hogewood was a local renaissance man of sorts, working for several different stations as a sports director, news anchor, and play-by-play man for Fox Sports South and various other networks. His time dedicated to Ring Of Honor came to an end in 2011 when HD Net and ROH ended their business relationship. National Wrestling Alliance Vice President David Lagana took to Twitter to express his sadness and sympathy on the passing of Hogewood.

From all of us here at Ringside News, we’d like to offer our condolences to friends and family of the local legend. Rest in power Mike.
