Drew McIntyre made his return to the main roster on the April 16 episode of RAW earlier this year. Despite being a beloved babyface down in NXT, where he was a former NXT Champion, McIntyre returned as a heel to the main roster alongside Dolph Ziggler, who had just made the move from SmackDown Live to RAW.

Ever since returning to the main roster, McIntyre has been very open about wanting to wake people up to their reality. Alongside Ziggler, McIntyre’s character holds the belief that there are men and women who aren’t giving it their all and coasting on the success of their WWE contract.

With all of McIntyre’s impressive skills and character development in mind, Jim Ross took to his podcast to give his opinion on the former Drew Galloway. Ross believes that McIntyre is a future Universal or WWE Champion and it is only a matter of time.

After all this time, Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer has revealed that the reason behind McIntyre teaming up with Ziggler is so that they can have an inevitable feud down the line, which would shoot McIntyre up into the main event scene.

Viewers are already witnessing McIntyre stepping up against the likes of Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins- two of the biggest guys on RAW. As such, it is only a matter of time before the former NXT Champion is a top guy on WWE’s flagship program.
