Fans were very excited about the idea of Shinsuke Nakamura possibly winning the WWE United States Championship on SmackDown Live this week. Jeff Hardy didn’t defend his title at Money In The Bank either and some were under the assumption that Nakamura could win.

It looks like Shinsuke Nakamura took a bump or something else went wrong because he is unable to compete. But it doesn’t look like WWE fans will be without a US Title match because they’re going to hold one anyway.

Jeff Hardy will put his US Title on the line in a US Open Challenge. The last time we saw an open challenge it didn’t work out well for Seth Rollins when he lost his IC Title to Dolph Ziggler, now it’s Jeff Hardy’s turn to roll the dice and see who shows up.

Let’s hope Shinsuke Nakamura isn’t hurt too badly but only time will tell and we will let you know as soon as we hear anything else. At this point, all we know is they’re saying Nakamura suffered an injury last night and he’s not medically cleared to compete.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
