Mysterio is the pre-order character in this year’s WWE 2k game. This made a lot of fans incredibly happy but it doesn’t mean an actual deal is in place between Mysterio and WWE.

When a Superstar agrees to come back for a video game, they’re just signing a deal with 2k. Dave Meltzer explained on Wrestling Observer Radio how Rey hasn’t agreed to a new deal although he expects that is imminent at this point.

“He has not signed as of today. It’s the situation we’ve talked about for months. I expect that there will be a deal. It’s just a question of reaching a money issue and a date issue and I think both sides want to reach that issue they just you know, Paul Levesque is very busy.”

Rey Mysterio is in great shape and it looks like he wants to come back. He also said during the Rey Mysterio Day celebration that he was talking about a 3-year deal with WWE so that’s something as well.

It’s also possibly a matter of WWE wanting to sign Mysterio before All In and opening a door for his son to get into wrestling. So it’s just a matter of figuring it all out at this point.
