News broke out last week that WWE had entered into a working relationship with Pro Wrestling Noah, the promotion that was formed in 2000 by AJPW (New Japan’s biggest competitor in the far east.) One of the biggest stars to come out of Noah was KENTA, now known as Hideo Itami, who is now on 205 Live after a lengthy NXT run.

Now, according to PW Insider, Itami will be returning to his Japanese origins and wrestling at Sumo Hall on September 1st against Naomichi Marufuji. The big thing that Insider reports is that the former GHC Heavyweight Champion will be competing under his former ring name KENTA.

Honestly, this is the best possible way they can utilize Itami, whose unfortunate injury setbacks during his NXT tenure really held him back from every getting the proper spotlight. We’ll keep you updated on this new working relationship.
