A lot of WWE fans who keep up with Impact Wrestling were happy about the idea of Eli Drake coming to NXT or the main roster. He could be a fine fit in either brand to be honest because he knows how to wrestle on television and his microphone skills are on point as well.

Eli Drake’s contract with Impact Wrestling had run out and Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that he had signed a new short-term contract to keep him with the company.

But now Impact Wrestling has announced they have signed Eli Drake to a longer contract extension than previously reported. Although the specifics of the new deal aren’t out there just yet, this could very well see Eli Drake staying with Impact Wrestling for a while.

It should be noted that WWE has shown interest in bringing in Eli Drake but there is no real confirmation that either side has spoken to each other. But one thing we can be sure of is Impact Wrestling was confident enough to announce they have secured Drake for a longer deal so WWE will probably get the message eventually.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
