Big Cass’ WWE release surprised a lot of fans because he had just finished up a feud with Daniel Bryan. But since Cass lost his 2nd match against Daniel Bryan the writing could have been on the wall.

Brad Shepard of Bodyslam.net reports Big Cass was released due to a series of problems he had backstage involving his attitude and his excessive drinking.

It was also reported that WWE made this decision because they think they have a good enough roster with big men such as Drew McIntyre and Baron Corbin already. Therefore losing Big Cass wasn’t going to hurt them too much in that regard.

It should also be noted that WWE owns the name Big Cass and Colin Cassady so if he does show up elsewhere eventually he’ll have to come up with a new name to wrestle under.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
