AJ Styles has held onto his WWE Championship so far against Shinsuke Nakamura leaving some fans to wonder what WWE is doing. Bryan Alvarez opened up briefly about this subject during Wrestling Observer Live where he revealed that WWE’s intention for this big feud might not have been what some fans would hope.
“I expect him to be the champion out of this but you’re overthinking the reason they did this. They did this because they just decided they were going to do a feud that was going to last through June. I guess it’s going through June and this was a stupid idea they came up with. They’ve been in business for years they just thought they’d try something different and this time it was stupid.”
Therefore it looks like WWE might not have very deep intentions for AJ Styles vs Shinsuke Nakamura after all if this is just a placeholder for the WWE Championship until June.
