Daniel Bryan lost the main event of SmackDown Live this week meaning Rusev is now in the Money In The Bank ladder match instead of Bryan. While some fans were happy about this booking decision, others started to worry.

Bryan Alvarez was asked during Wrestling Observer Live if Daniel Bryan told WWE he wasn’t re-signing with the company so they’re just using him to put people over before he leaves the company. This is a theory that we’ve heard batted around the Internet Wrestling Community following his Money In The Bank qualifying match loss. But Alvarez had a straight-forward reply as he noted WWE’s intentions with Daniel Bryan didn’t include him leaving the company at all.

“He ain’t leaving. You guys watch the show? He lost and then for two minutes they showed him sitting on the apron looking very disappointed in himself. There’s a story being told here. The story is he has a long journey to work his way back to the WWE Title. That’s the story they’re telling so chill out and let’s see how it goes. It’s okay to lose once in a while.”

It was also noted that while WWE doesn’t see Daniel Bryan as a main event guy, he’s at least an upper-midcard guy at this point which is better than he’s been booked in the past.

The long-term plan could be to bring Daniel Bryan back to the top of WWE. It just might take some time for him to build up enough momentum. So if you really want to see Daniel regain the WWE Championship then the best idea is to not give up just yet.
