Braun Strowman has an even bigger reason to help his team win at Survivor Series on Sunday. He got Stephanie McMahon to agree that if Raw wins, then Strowman get a Universal Title Match and he will also be allowed to get his hands on Baron Corbin before then and be able to pick the stipulation. Stephanie was more than happy to allow this just so Raw will win on Sunday.
Dave Meltzer discussed on Wrestling Observer Radio that with such a short time-frame to work with considering Lesnar’s limited schedule it could be difficult to squeeze a Braun Strowman Universal Title match in. This is especially difficult seeing how he was told that Lesnar vs Strowman is not the plan for WrestleMania.

“I mean the one thing is that I have been told, and of course this is always subject to change. But I was told directly that Braun Strowman vs Brock Lesnar was not going to happen at WrestleMania.”
“So that could mean that Strowman wins the championship before WrestleMania. Could mean a lot of different things. But that leads me to believe that since they directly brought up Braun Strowman challenging that means it’s not something they’re doing 6 months down the line it seems like something they’re doing for the next big one.”
“Right now Lesnar’s not booked in San Jose for the December pay-per-view. The one after that is the January pay-per-view which is the Royal Rumble so that’s what it feels like to me. From there, who knows?”

It looks like WWE could have Strowman face Lesnar at Royal Rumble and then from that point, it would all be dependent on who wins that match. But if Lesnar has Mania plans, then it might not make much sense for him to drop the title because he might not need to compete unless it’s for the title and if Braun wins it at Royal Rumble then it would only stand to reason that Meltzer wouldn’t have been told that Braun vs Brock isn’t the plan for MetLife Stadium.
