CM Punk’s name value didn’t help much with the UFC 225 buyrate in his second professional Mixed Martial Arts fight for the promotion. According to the Los Angeles Times (via Bloody Elbow), early estimates suggest that UFC 225’s buyrate was below 150,000 buys. This number seems incredibly low for as much hype the show had going into the event.

Not only did the event feature Punk’s second bout in his hometown of Chicago but the card was headlined by middleweight champion Robert Whittaker’s thrilling split decision win over Yoel Romero, and also included Colby Covington winning the interim welterweight title over Rafael dos Anjos.

Again, it’s still an early estimate and it could be considerably higher than the 150k figure. We will keep you updated.
