There was a rumor floating online earlier this week that WWE has plans to have Ronda Rousey face Asuka at next year’s WrestleMania 35 event. While next year’s WrestleMania is still a long ways ahead, it’s very possible that we may actually see this match.

Bryan Alvarez addressed these rumors on today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Live and indicated that this match could very well happen. The belief is that Asuka will capture the SmackDown Women’s Championship from Charlotte at WrestleMania and remain undefeated, while Rousey will remain undefeated heading into next year’s WrestleMania. WWE could bill this bout as a streak vs. streak match for the grandest stage of them all, WrestleMania.

A lot can happen between now and WrestleMania 35 but right now it’s strictly just a rumor that has the likelihood of happening. We will keep you updated if we hear anything else regarding next year’s WrestleMania and this rumored match.
