As seen on Monday’s episode of RAW, Stephanie McMahon announced the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble match for next month’s Royal Rumble event.

Bryan Alvarez discussed the Women’s Royal Rumble match on today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Live and mentioned that all the women from RAW and SmackDown that are not champions will appear in the match. Alvarez also mentioned that he was told that women from NXT will fill the vacant spots, depending on how many will still be available but they will return to NXT after the event. Basically, if talent like Billie Kay or Peyton Royce are used, they will be back on NXT programming the following week.

Regarding former talents being used for the match, there are currently no plans at this time to bring any in but that could change.

We also noted earlier today that Ronda Rousey could play a role in the match. You can read that story here.
