Zelina Vega shocked the WWE Universe last Friday on SmackDown—and it turns out she shocked the locker room too.

Vega captured the WWE Women’s United States Championship from Chelsea Green in what many are now calling one of the most unexpected title changes of the year. According to PWInsiderElite.com, “personnel were legitimately surprised” when Vega scored the win, and the title switch was kept tightly under wraps until the moment it happened.

Sources say even most of the talent watching from backstage had no clue the belt was changing hands. It wasn’t until the referee completed the three count that the majority realized what had just gone down. “The majority of talent watching the bout from the backstage area were reportedly unaware that the championship was set to change hands,” the report stated.

The victory marks a major milestone for Vega—it’s her first singles championship in WWE. The win also brings Chelsea Green’s first run as Women’s U.S. Champion to an abrupt end, making the moment even more impactful.

With Vega finally getting her moment and WWE keeping it on complete lockdown, fans are now wondering what’s next for both her and Green.
