Zelina Vega had a rough night on SmackDown—and not because of Piper Niven.
During WWE’s latest European broadcast of SmackDown, Vega suffered a wardrobe malfunction mid-match that forced the production team to act fast. The incident occurred while she was facing off against Piper Niven, with the screen abruptly blacking out—not once, but twice. The second blackout happened just as Vega was preparing to hit her signature 619.
While the live international broadcast clearly reacted in real time, WWE made sure the U.S. audience didn’t see a thing. WWE edited the footage for the American broadcast, using alternate camera angles to avoid showing anything that could be considered “compromising.” The result? No blackouts, no interruptions, and most fans in the U.S. had no clue anything even went down.
This isn’t the first time WWE production had to get creative on the fly, but it’s yet another example of how fast the company moves to keep things family-friendly—even when the action inside the ring takes an unexpected turn.
Do you think WWE handled the situation the right way? Should they have acknowledged the incident, or was the quiet fix the best call? Drop your thoughts in the comments below—we want to hear what you think.
