Zelina Vega is setting the record straight—there’s no real beef between her, Jade Cargill, or Mercedes Moné. Fans trying to turn hairstyle choices into a locker room feud? She’s not having it.
During her recent appearance on Ring the Bell, Zelina addressed the viral speculation that her anime-inspired hair transformations—specifically the red-and-white Todoroki look—sparked tension with Cargill and Moné. She wasted no time shutting it down, calling the whole situation a ridiculous internet fantasy.
When asked about the drama, Zelina jumped in before the host could even finish the question.
“It’s so stupid. So stupid. It is so stupid. Oh my god. But it’s like a whole discussion.”
She explained that she and Jade actually laughed over the online reactions, revealing it was never meant to be taken seriously.
“Dude, Jade and I were laughing when this was going on. Her and I—we didn’t think people were going to take it that serious, you know what I mean? So, we were texting and she’s just like, ‘Oh god, this is turning into something way bigger than I thought.’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, it’s because the internet hates me.’”
Jade eventually posted that it was all a joke, and Zelina co-signed the whole thing with one blunt mic drop:
“Unfortunately, for the people who wish that that was true—no. Sorry to burst your bubbles. You got worked.”
When the topic shifted to Mercedes Moné, Zelina addressed the recycled clip that fans have been using to fuel fake tension for years.
“When it comes to me and Mercedes—we never had any beef. That’s what’s so funny.”
She recalled an old interview where she once named Sasha Banks (now Mercedes Moné) as a dream opponent, but fans twisted her words into something they weren’t.
“Back in the day, I had done an interview—which I remember talking to Naomi about this a long, long time ago—and someone asked, ‘Who do you want to be in the ring with?’ And I said Sasha Banks. I said, ‘I’d be willing to go face-to-face with her, but I don’t know if she’s ready for that.’”
“But people use that clip like, ‘Oh my god, they’ve had beef forever!’ And I’m like—I love that I convinced you all of that. I love that for me.”
Zelina then reminded fans that Mercedes trains with her cousin and there’s never been any tension between them.
“We’ve never had any beef. And she trains with my cousin. Like, what? You guys are pushing it. Like, come on.”
So no, Zelina isn’t in a locker room war over hair dye—and she’s not here for manufactured drama. She’s just doing her, with anime flair and unapologetic energy.
