Zack Ryder came back during the November 14th edition of SmackDown and he finally got the classic Triple H pointing photo right after that. Following the show, Ryder has now revealed an interesting fact about his encounter with Triple H.

While speaking on Not Sam Wrestling, Zack Ryder revealed a full-circle moment from his WWE return, noting that his first match in Albany years ago was against Triple H, and now he found himself in the same arena getting the iconic Triple H point.

After cooling off backstage, he searched his history on CageMatch and rediscovered that his debut in the city was Hawkins & Ryder vs. Triple H and Jeff Hardy. He even found an old WWE photo of Triple H giving him a spinebuster.

“I got the point. Yeah. And it’s funny because as I was just kind of cooling off, I’m like, when was the first time I was in this building? It was Albany. So I did a little research. I actually went on CageMatch. Actually, the major marks in our Major Pod Facebook group looked it up on CageMatch. The first time I ever wrestled in Albany—Hawkins & Ryder versus Triple H and Jeff Hardy. That’s awesome. I went on WWE.com and found this picture of Triple H spine-bustering me.”

Ryder admitted how surreal it felt: the first time he was in Albany he was getting hit with a spinebuster by Triple H, and this time he was back getting the famous finger point from him. The coincidence made the moment even more special and meaningful for him.

“Like, how wild is that? First time I’m there, I’m getting spine-bustered by Triple H. Last time I’m there, I’m getting the finger point. Getting the point photo, man. And yeah, I mean, it’s really cool. It’s really, really cool.”

Ryder’s return match saw him lose to LA Knight in the “Last Time Is Now” tournament and that’s the last time fans will see Ryder for now since it was a one-off appearance for him.

Zack Ryder’s return showed why WWE nostalgia still works. His picture with Triple H wasn’t just a fun moment: it showed his growth, the respect he earned and how his journey came back to where it first started. So now we’ll have to see if he returns to WWE again one day as fans still clearly love him.
