The Young Bucks might be hurting after AEW’s chaotic Anarchy in the Arena match, but it doesn’t look like fans will have to wait long to see Matthew and Nicholas Jackson back in action.
After enduring a brutal 12-person war at Double or Nothing on May 25 in Glendale, Arizona, both Jackson brothers were reportedly banged up, according to Wrestling Observer Radio. The match featured nonstop violence as the Bucks teamed with Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler YUTA, and Marina Shafir against a stacked crew of Swerve Strickland, Kenny Omega, Samoa Joe, Powerhouse Hobbs, Katsuyori Shibata, and Willow Nightingale.
Dave Meltzer noted that the duo may take some time off or stay off television while recovering. “There’s a good chance they’re off for a few weeks,” Meltzer stated, but no official word has come from AEW yet.
However, in a key update that should ease concerns, Fightful Select added that “the Young Bucks are injured” coming out of the match, but “we aren’t expecting them to miss much time.”
The Bucks have built a reputation for throwing themselves into wild, high-stakes matches, and Anarchy in the Arena was no exception. But given their EVP status and integral role in ongoing storylines with The Elite, it sounds like they’re more likely to get a quick breather than an extended absence.
Even when they’re not fully healthy, the Bucks always find a way to stay in the mix.
