The Young Bucks are still off AEW television—and now we know it’s not because people aren’t trying to get them back.

Ahead of AEW Dynasty, Fightful Select reported that “there had been some internal pitches from talent involving the Young Bucks in recent months, with many talent thinking they’d be back by now.”

That new detail adds fuel to the mystery surrounding Nick and Matt Jackson’s extended absence. Despite still holding their Executive Vice President titles alongside Kenny Omega, the Bucks haven’t appeared on AEW programming since losing the AEW World Tag Team Titles to Private Party in October 2024.

Their status behind the scenes hasn’t changed. During a recent Fightful Select Q&A, Sean Ross Sapp confirmed that the Bucks and Omega “remain in those [EVP] positions.” However, he added that “The Young Bucks, in particular, have had limited presence at AEW events,” often leaving well before shows go live.

The Bucks were said to have planned a long break, but that break has clearly stretched further than expected—enough that people within the company were pitching ideas, believing they’d be back by now.

There’s no official word on when, or if, the Young Bucks will return to AEW television. But with internal discussions already happening, the door clearly isn’t shut.
