Kenny Omega and Swerve Strickland just formed an unexpected alliance, and The Young Bucks might want to start watching their backs.

AEW Dynamite’s April 9 episode kicked off with Jon Moxley vs. Katsuyori Shibata in a hard-hitting opener, but things really exploded after the bell. The Young Bucks stormed the ring, coming face-to-face with Moxley and Marina Shafir before taking the mic and throwing gasoline on an already burning situation.

Nicholas Jackson told fans to “shut the f up,” before explaining why they cost Swerve Strickland the AEW World Title at Dynasty: “We love Hangman. That’s why we did it.” Matthew Jackson took it a step further, claiming their attack on Swerve was actually a “peace offering” to the Death Riders. He then called on Moxley and his crew to team up with The Elite.

Instead of a handshake, they got Kenny Omega. The Cleaner walked out and didn’t hold back. He blasted the Bucks for ghosting him at Dynasty, calling out their sketchy priorities. “You were the ones that almost killed AEW before the Death Riders even existed,” Omega said, making it clear he’s not siding with his old friends this time.

Just as Omega looked ready to throw down, Kazuchika Okada blindsided him. But before things got ugly, Swerve Strickland hit the ring with a steel chair and chased off The Elite, standing tall alongside Omega in a moment no one saw coming.

Strickland didn’t stop there. With The Elite gone, he grabbed the mic and sent a message straight to the locker room: “It is buck hunting season.”

Later in the night, Strickland backed up his words with action, scoring a win over PAC with the Swerve Stomp—capping off a night that saw him and Omega seemingly unite with one goal: taking down The Elite.
