Just hours before AJ Styles steps back into a TNA ring for the first time in over a decade, Xavier Woods—aka Austin Creed—reminded fans who really broke the mold when it comes to TNA talent making it big.
Responding to AJ Styles’ heartfelt reflection on his TNA journey and WWE success, Woods hopped on Twitter with a direct, tea-sipping reminder that he was the first true homegrown star from TNA to reach long-term success in WWE.
“Just remember, I’m the 1st fully homegrown @ThisIsTNA talent to find real long term success in @wwe. I washed the ‘stink’ off and made it possible for the rest of you to come and experience Wrestlemania. But per usual when I do amazing things dont nobody wanna talk about that…”
His message, paired with a sly GIF of a woman sipping tea, didn’t tag Styles directly—but the timing and tone left little doubt who he was referencing.
Earlier, AJ Styles had shared a deeply personal post featuring a mirror image of his past and present selves, reflecting on the road from TNA to global stardom.
“If I had the ability to go back in time, I’d tell myself ‘You have no idea how far this ride’s about to take you. All the ups, the downs, the doubts—they’re gonna shape you into one of the best in the world. Don’t lose that chip on your shoulder, but learn when to let go of your pride. You’re gonna walk into places you never thought you’d belong… Way better than you could imagine. Stay humble, stay hungry, and trust God’s timing—it’s perfect, even when it doesn’t feel like it. You’re not just phenomenal. You’re built for this.’”
TNA confirmed Styles’ Slammiversary appearance earlier in the week, and the wrestling world instantly began speculating about a potential Bound for Glory clash with TNA World Champion Trick Williams. But Woods’ tweet quickly stole attention from Styles’ return nostalgia, shifting the conversation to who really paved the way.
One thing’s for sure—AJ Styles is back in TNA, but Austin Creed isn’t letting anyone rewrite history without speaking up.
