Allie Katch is officially in surgery after suffering a devastating leg injury at The People vs. GCW on January 19. Steph De Lander took to Twitter/X early this morning to share an update, posting the X-ray of Katch’s broken leg along with a heartfelt message:
“Morning y’all ☀️ Thank you to everybody who has donated so far! Allie has gone into surgery this morning 🙏🏼 Here’s the gnarly X-Ray of her broken leg 😭 Will bring more updates today as I get them. SDL xo.”
The injury occurred during her Number One Contender’s Match against Effy, where she landed awkwardly on a dive to the outside, forcing the match to be stopped immediately. Katch was stretchered out of the Hammerstein Ballroom, and later, De Lander confirmed she had broken two bones in her leg.
To help cover the medical costs and loss of income, De Lander launched a GoFundMe, which has already raised over $7,784 of its $13,000 goal. She’s been vocal about the financial struggles independent wrestlers face when injuries like this happen, urging fans to step up and support Katch during her recovery.
With surgery now underway, the wrestling community is rallying behind Katch. De Lander has promised to provide updates throughout the day, and fans are flooding social media with messages of support.
