X-Pac welcomes Rip Rogers to the show.
Rogers is asked which territory he enjoyed working in most during his professional wrestling career. He says he didn’t really have a favourite territory, but he did really love working in Calgary, Alberta. When he worked there, the promoters would set him up in a hotel room in downtown Calgary, and that was a beautiful place.
Next, X-Pac asks Rogers if he thinks increased attention on the independent scene could help re-establish a territory-like system. Rogers says there’s not a chance that will happen because the indies are a joke. Some people might think that the indies are flourishing right now but Rogers says if that’s the case, he must have a different definition of success than most people.
Rogers says that Lanny Poffo and Randy Savage played a huge part in his development early on in his career. He says he learned everything he knew about the business from them and he basically lived with Randy for a period of time. In addition, one of the biggest opportunities he got early on his career was tagging during a match with Lanny.
He says that Randy Savage was the exact same person out of the ring as he was in the ring. Rogers only saw Savage break character once in his life for about 30 seconds after his puppy died.
