World Xtreme Wrestling is heading back to where it all began, and the promotion is making it clear this isn’t just a one-time event.
WXW announced that it will return to Mountainville Memorial Hall in Allentown, Pennsylvania — the longtime home of the original promotion founded by WWE Hall of Famer Afa Anoaʻi Sr. The comeback starts with WXW: Homecoming on Sunday, May 3 at 5:00 PM, and the company plans to run shows there every first Sunday of the month moving forward.
The promotion is now owned and run by Afa Anoaʻi Jr., who spent the last decade building Battlefield Pro Wrestling. After losing his father in 2024, he said bringing WXW back felt like the right move to honor what his father created.
While speaking about the return, Afa Jr. explained how much of this decision was tied to the lessons he learned growing up in the business.
“For the last ten years, Battlefield Pro Wrestling has been about honoring the values my father instilled in this business. Discipline, storytelling, respect, and giving fans something real.”
He also made it clear that this return isn’t just about nostalgia — it’s about keeping the legacy alive for future fans.
“After losing my father in 2024, I spent a lot of time reflecting on everything he built here in Allentown and what WXW meant to so many people. Bringing WXW back home to the Lehigh Valley isn’t just about reviving a name, it’s about preserving a legacy, honoring my father’s vision, and introducing it to a new generation of fans. There’s no better place to do that than Mountainville Memorial Hall.”
Kevin Keenan, a former WWE referee and current NWA senior referee, will also play a key role behind the scenes as Senior Official. He has deep ties to the original WXW and said the return means a lot to him personally.
“This one is deeply personal for me. Having trained under Afa Sr., worked for the original WXW, and spent years alongside Afa Jr., it means a great deal to be part of this return.”
He added that the goal is to mix the old-school feel fans remember with a modern style that fits today’s wrestling scene.
“Our goal is to bring back the traditions, professionalism, and identity that made the original WXW special, while adding a modern edge that reflects where the wrestling industry is today. We want longtime fans to feel that history, while giving today’s audience something fresh, exciting, and worthy of the WXW name.”
WXW: Homecoming is set for Sunday, May 3 at Mountainville Memorial Hall in Allentown, Pennsylvania, with a 5:00 PM bell time. After that, the plan is to keep the action going with monthly events at the same venue.
WXW built its name in Allentown years ago, and now the promotion is betting that fans are ready to see it rise again under new leadership tied directly to the Anoaʻi family legacy.
