The invasion angle between NXT and TNA kicked off in a big way during the September 23rd edition of NXT. WWE will now be holding an event called “Invasion” next week but it seems the event has drawn criticism over its name and date.

Sky News Arabia reports that WWE has drawn criticism from the State of Israel over its upcoming NXT special, Invasion, scheduled for October 7. Israeli officials note that the date coincides with the anniversary of the 2023 Hamas attacks and believe the event’s name is poorly chosen, given the significance of that day.

This comes after Ava announced during the No Mercy Premium Live Event that Invasion will take place on Tuesday, October 7th, live on the CW Network. The card already includes two Survivor Series-style elimination matches: one for the men, one for the women.

WWE’s upcoming NXT Invasion special is set to feature major moments in its cross-promotional storyline with TNA, but the show’s name and timing have definitely created controversy. Right now, it’s unclear if WWE will respond or make any changes, so we’ll have to see what happens in the end.
