WWE’s future events in Saudi Arabia are facing growing uncertainty following a new update regarding the company’s plans in the region.

It was previously reported by Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer that WWE officials had internally discussed the situation surrounding their remaining premium live events scheduled in Saudi Arabia for 2026, as well as the long-term plan for WrestleMania 43 in Riyadh in 2027. At the time, Alvarez stressed that those talks were simply internal conversations and that nothing had been cancelled or officially changed.

However, a new update from Dave Meltzer suggests the situation may be shifting as tensions in the Middle East continue. According to Meltzer, many within WWE now believe the company’s planned July premium live event in Saudi Arabia is unlikely to move forward unless circumstances change.

“Regarding WWE and Saudi Arabia, while nothing has been said officially nor decided 100 percent, most are of the impression the July PPV there is unlikely to happen. Unless things change in the world, WWE won’t be going there due to the risk.”

Meltzer also noted that the uncertainty goes beyond just one show. WWE currently has multiple events tied to the Saudi Arabia partnership, including two additional shows scheduled this year and the planned WrestleMania 43 event in 2027.

“There were two more shows scheduled this year plus Mania next year. All are contingent on the situation changing as right now big events scheduled for the country are not happening, whether it be Formula 1, UFC, boxing or WWE.”

The financial implications could be significant if WWE is forced to alter its schedule. The company’s long-running partnership with Saudi Arabia has been one of its most lucrative business arrangements since it began in 2018. Meltzer pointed out that cancelling or postponing events would represent a major financial setback for WWE.

WWE already held its first Saudi Arabia event of 2026 earlier this year when the Royal Rumble took place in Riyadh on January 31. The show was the first of three planned premium live events in the country this year, with two more originally scheduled for later in the calendar.

For now, nothing has been officially cancelled, and WWE has not publicly announced any changes. However, the latest update indicates that the situation remains fluid and could depend heavily on how conditions in the region develop over the coming months.
