A major shake-up may be underway in WWE NXT, and it all comes down to money—and main roster plans.

According to Wrestling Observer Live’s Bryan Alvarez, several top names in NXT, including Stephanie Vaquer, Ricky Saints, and Jordynne Grace, were brought in under significantly larger contracts than most developmental talent.

Alvarez explained that these kinds of contracts are rarely used unless WWE sees the talent as a short-term NXT investment.

“Ricky Saints, Stephanie, and Jordynne. I was told all three of them… had larger than your normal NXT contract,” Alvarez said. “The NXT contracts are usually not very lucrative, but I was told all three of them had a bigger-than-normal NXT contract. And people that have deals like that don’t end up in developmental all that long.”

Vaquer, who recently lost the NXT Women’s Championship to Jacy Jayne, was reportedly emotional after the bout, and Alvarez speculated that it was due to a positive shift in her career trajectory.

“Stephanie cried tears, I’m sure, of joy to be going up to the main roster and making a lot of money.”

While WWE has not confirmed any call-ups, and no official brand has been named, the speculation is growing that all three could be headed to Raw or SmackDown sooner rather than later.
