WWE is locking down some of Europe’s hottest names—and now a third rising star is joining the pack.
After Cultaholic reported that Aigle Blanc and Mike D Vecchio were expected to sign with WWE by September, Fightful Select has added that Spanish standout Zozaya is also expected to ink a deal with the company this fall.
According to the update, “Zozaya, who in an update, is also now expected to sign with the promotion in September.” That makes three top-tier international signings with global resumes, all slated to arrive in WWE developmental later this year.
Sources said that the trio’s contracts are being handled by WWE recruiter James Amner. While names like Blanc (France) and Vecchio (Belgium) bring experience from promotions like wXw, RevPro, and All Japan Pro Wrestling, Zozaya has been a mainstay in Spain and the UK scene.
The report also teased more signings to come. “We have heard that at least one more talent is expected to sign with the promotion, but have yet to hear of any UK based talent as of this writing.”
As for Goldenboy Santos, another name fans have speculated about, WWE’s interest remains—but there’s a catch. “He is currently dealing with an injury and retains interest from WWE but is not expected to sign with the company right now,” Fightful noted.
With WWE finally investing again in European talent, especially as talk about NXT Europe continues to pick up, it looks like September could mark the beginning of a major international reboot for the company.
