Adam Pearce might be feuding with Paul Heyman on WWE television—but fans hoping for an in-ring comeback shouldn’t hold their breath.
In an update from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter on January 23, 2026, Dave Meltzer shut down the latest wave of speculation surrounding Pearce’s potential return to action. Despite his rising tensions with Heyman on Monday Night RAW, Meltzer reported that there are no current plans for Pearce to wrestle.
“There has been speculation coming off the Pearce segments regarding him wrestling. Pearce was a good independent wrestler but stopped wrestling a long time ago and there are no plans right now for him to wrestle,” Meltzer wrote.
This update comes after renewed fan interest, which started brewing back in April 2025 when Pearce jokingly tweeted that he was officially returning to WWE’s active roster.
“Effective today, April 1, 2025, I am adding myself to the active roster and dedicating 100% of my efforts and energy toward a final in-ring comeback… I'm happy to finally make it OFFICIAL. I'm back.”
Of course, it was posted on April Fool’s Day—and later confirmed to be a prank. Pearce hasn’t wrestled full-time since 2014, though he’s remained a central figure in WWE’s authority storylines and occasionally stepped into non-wrestling physical roles.
Still, the on-screen exchanges with Paul Heyman over the past few weeks have led to more rumors about whether Pearce might be lacing up the boots one last time. But for now, it looks like he’ll stay firmly in his executive lane.
Whether you love him as an official or still remember him as “Scrap Daddy,” Adam Pearce continues to be a vital part of WWE programming—just not in the ring.
Do you think Adam Pearce should wrestle again to settle the score with Heyman? Or is he more effective behind the desk than inside the ropes? Drop your thoughts in the comments.
