Royce Keys might finally have a direction in WWE after the Royal Rumble— and it could involve teaming up with Jelly Roll at WrestleMania.
According to BodySlam.net, WWE officials have discussed the idea of Keys teaming up with Jelly Roll for a potential tag team match at WrestleMania 42. Sources noted that the storyline would revolve around the hardships both men have faced in their lives, using that shared background as the foundation for the partnership. The report notes that the pairing has been talked about internally, though it’s still just a discussion and not a confirmed plan.
This comes right after Jelly Roll made a major appearance during the March 13 episode of SmackDown. During the segment, Jelly Roll confronted The Miz and Kit Wilson, and the moment escalated quickly when the music star knocked Miz out in the middle of the confrontation. WWE later announced that Jelly Roll will face Wilson during next week’s SmackDown.
While Keys wasn’t involved in the segment itself, the new report suggests he could soon become part of the storyline if WWE moves forward with the WrestleMania idea. This also adds context to the ongoing speculation about Keys’ WWE status. In recent weeks, fans noticed that he has been backstage at SmackDown but hasn’t yet returned on television.
Earlier reports revealed that WWE had already filmed content involving Keys, though details about the footage — whether it was a vignette, storyline setup, or something else — weren’t disclosed. Another report from PWInsider also indicated that Keys has been spending time getting acclimated to WWE’s production environment, which is a routine step many new signings go through before appearing on TV.
Now with Jelly Roll already involved in a SmackDown storyline, WWE may have found the perfect way to bring back Keys. For now, the tag team idea is still just a reported discussion inside WWE rather than a confirmed WrestleMania match — but if it happens, Keys could end up making his WrestleMania debut in a memorable way.
