WWE’s Current Plans for Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 42 Revealed

Brock Lesnar will be a part of WrestleMania 42 — and now we know who he is expected to face at the Showcase of the Immortals.

According to Self Made Pro during the latest Self Made Session, WWE is now planning the dream match fans have been waiting for: Lesnar vs. GUNTHER. However, it wasn’t always the plan, as it was originally going to be the Ring General facing Bron Breakker.

“GUNTHER is definitely working Brock at WrestleMania. It was originally going to be Bron Breakker versus Brock, but now that Bron Breakker is set to get a title match there, Brock is facing GUNTHER.”

That “title match” update confirms what Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer previously reported — that WWE is building two massive World Championship matches for the WrestleMania 42 card, which includes CM Punk defending the WWE World Heavyweight Title against Breakker.

“Punk getting pinned, that finish was there to tell the story… the idea is we’re supposed to know WrestleMania — which is Cody and Roman, and Punk and Bron Breakker are the championship matches.”

Lesnar vs. GUNTHER is a physical dream match that many have been clamoring for a long time, which includes the Ring General himself. With Breakker getting elevated into a world title bout, WWE pivoted fast, and fans may have just won big.

Next year’s WrestleMania lineup is stacking up to be one of the hardest-hitting in recent memory — and the Beast Incarnate vs. The Ring General could easily be the show-stealer.
