Penta and Rey Fenix are on separate brands in WWE, but that could change soon.

According to JoeyVotes on the latest episode of WrestleVotes Radio on WrestleBinge, WWE has major plans to reunite the brothers as a tag team. “The plan for the two in the near future is to have them together as a tag team,” JoeyVotes revealed.

Despite being positioned as singles stars, WWE reportedly wants to keep the duo formerly known as The Lucha Bros together. Rey Fenix was placed on SmackDown to maintain his brother’s momentum on RAW while Penta continues his pursuit of the Intercontinental Championship. Fenix found himself unexpectedly replacing Rey Mysterio at WrestleMania 41, stepping in against El Grande Americano after Mysterio’s last-minute injury on SmackDown.

Penta is now set to face Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Title at Backlash 2025. It’s a rematch from their RAW encounter after WrestleMania 41, where Dominik managed to defeat the Lucha legend. With only three weeks between WrestleMania and Backlash, WWE’s decision could determine whether Dominik’s reign is a transitional one or if Penta’s momentum continues to build.

Rumors have been circulating about WWE using the upcoming Draft as a way to reunite the brothers, but nothing has been confirmed. If WWE follows through with the plan, fans could finally see the Lucha Bros dominating the tag team scene on the main roster.
