Britt Baker’s AEW status has been a hot topic, but now WWE is officially in the conversation.

According to WrestleVotes via Backstage Pass, a WWE source gave a “resounding yes” when asked if the company would sign Baker if she became available. However, WWE doesn’t expect that to happen anytime soon.

Despite rumors swirling about her future, AEW hasn’t formally cut ties with Baker. Bryan Alvarez recently shut down reports that she’s “wildly unpopular” in AEW, stating, “From talking to multiple people within AEW, the Britt Baker stories all over the Internet today appear to be blown way out of proportion. She’s not being used and there don’t appear to be any imminent plans, but there’s nothing to her being finished with the company.”

Baker hasn’t competed since November 13, 2024, when she defeated Penelope Ford on Dynamite. At the time, AEW appeared to be setting up a program between her and Serena Deeb, with Baker dismissing Deeb after the match by saying, “Nobody cares.” Deeb later wore a shirt with the same phrase on Collision in December, but neither woman has wrestled since.

While Alvarez insists there’s no major fallout between Baker and AEW, the lack of creative plans fuels speculation. Wade Keller’s report stating that AEW officials are “over it” when it comes to Baker aligns with Ringside News’ September 2024 report about her tension with Mercedes Mone.

Baker has stayed quiet about her absence but mentioned in December on Diamond Dallas Page’s YouTube channel that she had been “filming some fun stuff” outside of AEW.

The bigger story now is WWE’s interest. If Baker ever became available, she wouldn’t have to wait long for an offer. While she remains under contract with AEW, her lack of TV time and WWE’s confirmed interest only add to the intrigue surrounding her next move.
