The mystery behind the masked man aiding The Vision just took another turn—and it’s more layered than fans expected.

On the December 8 episode of WWE Raw, the unidentified figure appeared twice, attacking both Rey Mysterio and LA Knight in separate segments. But according to Bryan Alvarez, WWE may be using more than one person to play the role in order to protect the reveal. Alvarez wrote on X:

“In an effort to throw fans off, it appears at least two different people have been under the mystery man mask.”

This move is reportedly designed to confuse viewers trying to guess the wrestler’s identity by comparing body size, posture, or in-ring style. The masked man made his debut during the Survivor Series: WarGames, interfering in the Men’s WarGames match to help Paul Heyman’s team secure the win. He attacked CM Punk with a curb stomp—a direct nod to Seth Rollins’ signature move and a major clue that’s sent fans spiraling into speculation.

Dave Meltzer shed more light on the situation in the December 8 Wrestling Observer Newsletter, revealing who was under the mask at Survivor Series:

“Austin Theory was the guy under the mask. Paul Heyman had wanted to bring Theory into the Vision, largely to make him a star and to protect Breakker and Reed from having to take pins.”

Meltzer added that Theory was initially supposed to wrestle in the match but plans changed after Jacob Fatu’s injury shifted WWE’s creative direction:

“He would have been in this match had Jacob Fatu not gotten hurt, which sped up the Cody Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre feud… The Fatu injury led to Rhodes moving into the WarGames team, and with him in the match, McIntyre made far more sense than Theory.”

On Raw, the masked attacker resurfaced during the main event. As Logan Paul battled LA Knight, the assailant drove Knight’s head into the announce table behind the referee’s back, giving Paul the opening to win. What followed was even more brutal—a full-scale assault backstage where Bronson Reed hit a Tsunami splash on Knight while he lay sprawled on top of a car.

With multiple wrestlers playing the role and key clues dropped across multiple segments, WWE seems intent on keeping this mystery alive. Whether Austin Theory is still behind the mask—or if someone new has stepped in—remains to be seen.
