WWE may have revealed a major AAA Mega Championship title change before it actually happens—and now it looks like they’re trying to cover their tracks.
During the international broadcast of WWE Raw on Netflix, promotional material aired for the upcoming WWE x AAA Worlds Collide event, showing El Hijo del Vikingo vs. Chad Gable with the AAA Mega Championship listed as being on the line.
However, fans in Mexico didn’t see the same version. On the Netflix broadcast in Mexico, the AAA Mega Championship detail was removed from the on-screen graphic. WWE geolocated the image so that the title match wording was only visible outside of the region, a move that seems designed to avoid spoiling the result of the upcoming May 31 match between Vikingo and current champion Alberto El Patron.
That said, the strategy didn’t exactly work. Most fans in Mexico are well aware of international broadcasts and, in many cases, watch Raw through pirated streams or alternate means. So the attempt to hide the graphic has only drawn more attention to it—and further confirmed speculation that Vikingo will win the title before Worlds Collide.
Vikingo is featured prominently in marketing materials for the June 7 event, and with Alberto El Patron not advertised for the crossover show, many now believe it’s a foregone conclusion that Vikingo will reclaim the AAA Mega Championship before facing Gable.
Do you think WWE’s effort to hide the spoiler actually backfired—or was this just a sloppy mistake? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
